Mouflon Chess Match 15 April 2020
Today at 8 PM we will see a four game match between Marios Savva and Mark Bryan. The time control will be ten minutes for the whole game with five seconds increment.
For the first and third game Mark will be commentating the games from his perspective in English. For games two and four Marios will be commentating in Greek. You can follow the commentary and games live on our YouTube Channel.
The Mouflon Chess Match is a new series of Matches which will take place throughout the year in which Mark Bryan challenges another player to a match. Each match we will see a different player. At each match both players will take turns commentating during the games, giving the spectators an insight into what the plans are behind their moves.
15 April: MARIOS SAVVA vs MARK BRYAN
Marios Savva is from Paphos. Currently ranked number 16 in Cyprus with 1763 FIDE Standard Rating. He has qualified twice for the Cyprus Closed Chess Championship. Along with Alexandros Isaakidis he is the first participant at the Cyprus Closed Chess Championship from the Paphos Chess Club.
Mark Bryan lives in Nicosia but plays for the Paphos Chess Club. Currently ranked number 18 in Cyprus with 1756 FIDE Standard Rating. Mark Bryan came close to qualifying for the Cyprus Closed Chess Championship on two occasions in 2011 & 2017. Mark is a FIDE Instructor as well as a FIDE Arbiter.
Marios Savva and Mark Bryan have played against each other in 4 previous FIDE Rapid Rated Games, with a win each, and two draws. In three of the games Mark was White. They have also played twice on lichess in the last two months, one draw in 3+2 and one win for Marios Savva in 15+10.
